About Future Farm

Our Story

Future Farm began as a radical idea in 2010 when founders Maria and Thomas Bennett, disillusioned with industrial agriculture after years working in the conventional food system, purchased 50 acres of depleted farmland that nobody wanted. Their vision seemed impossible at the time: transform this eroded, chemical-laden plot into a thriving ecosystem that would produce nutrient-dense food while regenerating the land.

The first three years were challenging beyond measure. The soil was so depleted that even weeds struggled to grow. The local community was skeptical, and financial institutions refused loans for such an "experimental" approach. Working with limited resources, the Bennetts lived in a small trailer on the property while implementing intensive cover cropping, holistic grazing, and water management systems learned from regenerative agriculture pioneers worldwide.

By 2015, the transformation was undeniable. Soil organic matter had increased from less than 1% to over 4%, water retention improved dramatically, and biodiversity exploded with the return of native birds, insects, and wildlife. As production began to flourish, local chefs and health-conscious families discovered the exceptional quality and taste of Future Farm's products, creating demand that allowed for gradual expansion.

Today, Future Farm spans 200 acres of thriving land with integrated livestock, vegetable, fruit, and grain production. What began as two people's dream has grown into a community of farmers, educators, and food lovers committed to demonstrating that agriculture can be a powerful force for healing our bodies and our planet. Our journey continues to evolve as we learn, innovate, and share our discoveries with a growing movement of regenerative farmers worldwide.

Mission & Values

Our Mission

To produce exceptional food that heals the land, nourishes our community, and inspires a regenerative approach to agriculture that can be replicated around the world.

Ecological Stewardship

We believe that healthy soil creates healthy plants, healthy animals, and healthy humans. Every decision we make prioritizes building biodiversity and enhancing ecosystem function. We measure our success not just in yields, but in increased soil organic matter, water retention, and wildlife populations.

Transparency & Education

We maintain complete transparency in our practices and welcome visitors to see exactly how their food is produced. We believe education is essential to transforming our food system, which is why we host workshops, internships, and school visits that share both our successes and our challenges.

Community Nourishment

We believe food should be accessible to all members of our community regardless of economic status. Through our sliding-scale CSA program, donations to food banks, and employment opportunities, we work to ensure that nutritious food reaches those who need it most.

Innovation & Adaptation

While we honor traditional agricultural wisdom, we embrace appropriate technology and continuous experimentation to improve our systems. We collect extensive data on our practices and freely share our findings with other farmers to accelerate positive change in agriculture.

Our Team

The heart of Future Farm is our dedicated team who bring diverse expertise and shared passion to our mission. Each member contributes unique skills that make our integrated approach possible.

Maria Bennett, Co-Founder

Maria Bennett

Co-Founder & Soil Health Director

With a background in environmental science and 15 years in conventional agriculture before founding Future Farm, Maria leads our soil regeneration protocols. Her research on mycorrhizal fungi associations has been published in agricultural journals, and she regularly consults with farms transitioning to regenerative practices.

Thomas Bennett, Co-Founder

Thomas Bennett

Co-Founder & Livestock Systems Manager

Thomas brings three generations of farming heritage combined with training in holistic management. He oversees our rotational grazing program and animal welfare standards. His innovative mobile infrastructure designs for pastured livestock have been adopted by farms across the country.

Dr. Amara Johnson

Dr. Amara Johnson

Agroecology Research Director

Amara joined Future Farm in 2016 after completing her PhD in agroecology. She designs our crop rotation plans and conducts on-farm research trials in collaboration with three universities. Her work on integrated pest management in organic systems has helped reduce crop losses while enhancing beneficial insect populations.

Miguel Rodriguez

Miguel Rodriguez

Vegetable Production Manager

Miguel's 20 years of organic farming experience guides our vegetable operation. He masterfully coordinates succession planting of over 40 crop varieties throughout the growing season. Miguel also leads our farmer training program, which has launched 12 graduates into successful agricultural careers.

What People Say About Us

Daniel Woodman, Local Chef

"As a chef committed to showcasing the true flavors of ingredients, I've never found produce with the depth of flavor that comes from Future Farm. Their regenerative approach creates vegetables with a mineral complexity that's unmistakable on the plate. Beyond taste, I value their transparency—when my diners ask about sourcing, I can tell them exactly how everything was grown. This partnership has transformed my cooking and connected my restaurant more deeply to the land."

Executive Chef, Harvest Table Restaurant
Dr. Elaine Murphy, Nutritionist

"In my nutrition practice, I've documented remarkable health improvements in patients who switch to Future Farm's products. Their commitment to soil health directly translates to nutrient density in their food. Independent lab testing shows their vegetables contain up to 60% higher micronutrient levels compared to conventional counterparts. For patients with inflammatory conditions, the transition to their properly raised animal products frequently results in measurable reductions in inflammatory markers."

Professor Robert Chang

"As someone who has studied agricultural systems worldwide, I consider Future Farm one of the most successful models of regenerative agriculture I've encountered. Their integration of livestock, crops, and perennials creates remarkable synergies that benefit the entire ecosystem. What impresses me most is their rigorous data collection and willingness to share failures alongside successes. My students consistently rank their farm internships as their most valuable educational experience."
